Gelato For The Holidays

- Image via Wikipedia
Gelato is just one of those desserts that we feel doesn’t have to be eaten just on the holidays and I’m sure most of you reading this would agree
We could eat gelato morning, noon and night if not for the guilty feelings that “may” accompany eating it…heck, to be honest we do eat at least one serving of gelato a day! That’s the benefit of making this wonderful dessert fresh daily!
Now, some would say we are biased because this is a website about gelato so of course we are going to say that gelato is awesome. In order to be objective, I’ve pulled up some links to other websites that mention their appreciation of gelato and even included a great candy cane gelato recipe you can try…perfect for the holidays right?
Head over to this blog of Darren and Penny, who are traveling around Italy and Spain. On Christmas Day they decided to have what else but the most incredible place on earth to have gelato..Italy. “An enormous cone with about 1kg of coffee and caramel ice-cream”, yummy! I wish they included a picture with that!
Included in my searches is a list of pumpkin pie alternatives. On this page you’ll see 10 different ways to enjoy the flavor of pumpkin pie without having to eat…a pumpkin pie. Sounds weird but I guess there are people out there that don’t like pumpkin pie itself but wouldn’t mind eating something with the same flavor. Number five is our favorite of course ;P
And here’s the great candy cane gelato recipe by Olivia who has a knack for making us hungry just by reading the description! Go ahead and try it..we dare you!
As one can tell..there are plenty of people who love to eat gelato. We support this habit and will try to deliver as much gelato news as we can muster. If you happen to be in New York be sure to stop by and have some of our 100′s of flavors.. Gelato New York
Gelato Turns Into Philanthropy
If you’re looking for gelato in New York then you’ve come to the right place. This website is full of gelato lovers in NYC who can’t get enough, so we’ve gathered what we feel to be the best gelato shops in the Big Apple in one place. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to check each place for yourselves but why not live vicariously through our descriptions until you do
As for the title of this post, it’s in regards to a news story I read about a gourmet ice cream/dessert owner who wants to give back to the community. I dare you to read the first few paragraphs where they describe his desserts and not feel just a little bit hungry! His name is Jim Biniaris and he owns a gourmet ice cream, gelato and sorbet business based in New Jersey but his reach goes as far as Connecticut and New York. When I read the red pepper corn gelato I almost melted!
“He’s already begun creating a spring line of dessert delicacies likely to include cilantro lime, lemon mascarpone and chocolate earl grey gelato, lemon verbena and raspberry merlot sorbets.”
Read the rest of the story here of how he’s giving back to the community. We wish him all the luck and hopefully we do get to see him on Oprah soon
